Salisbury 13:50 - Lay Tip
Thursday 14 May 2009
As predicted Serious Impact lost with the odds being quite low I managed to get a decent wedge on and I'll be using some of that today.
We're heading over to Salisbury today for a 9F Maiden. My system has highlighted Entreat as a decent lay and is my bet for the day.
Good luck out there!
York 15:45
Wednesday 13 May 2009
York is our destination today. I recommend laying Serious Impact in the 12F Handicap at 15:45. Frankie Dettori horses are usually overbet and according to my stats he's not got as strong a chance as the market thinks. A further mark against Serious Impact is the high draw. Looking at races with more than 10 runners the majority of winners come from a draw below 10 and none have come from a draw higher than 13. 10 year trends also support opposing the favorite with only 2 favorites winning in the past. The majority of winners also had a lot more experience than serious impact with just 2 runs under his belt.
Rosbay is another strong contender by the odds are little on the high side for me.
The likely winner should come from:
Kingsdale Orion
Overrule
Birkside
Good luck out there!
Bath 14:35
Wednesday 06 May 2009
Today we go to Bath for a 5F Selling Stakes. By no means a great contest but my system says lay either Transfixed, New York Lights or Miss Marani.
Transfixed has the smallest price and the lowest win probability in my system and is the lay bet I am taking today.
If I were going to try and find the winner I think it's going to come out of True Red, Southern Goddess, Safari Camp or Little Perc. Dutching £100 across these runners would yield a profit of £173.
Good luck out there!
Back Again
Hi Everyone,
I'm back after a few months of crazy schedules and no time to promote or publish selections. Please accept my humblest apologies.
On the up side my laying system (which flopped the first time I published it's selection) has been performing well. 3 months is a reasonable test but seeing as it only places one bet a day I feel the need to test it further.
It's not a system that I can sell easily because it relies heavily on historical data and uses some pretty advanced algorithms that don't lend themselves to spreadsheets let alone pen and paper. If I have some time I may try to simplify it but in the mean time I will be updating my website to support it.
I have been running it in conjunction with Michael's Place Lay Formula. Let me just say this has worked out very well. On the days where my system has underperformed then Michael's system has usually saved the day leaving me with a small loss or flat for the day. On days where Michael's system has been down mine has been up, again keeping the profits up. On a whole we target very different races and I am usually in profit on both systems Which has certainly enhanced my Betfair balance.
Until my system is automated I can't recommend Michael's Place Lay Formula enough. He's also running a subscriber service where you can get his selections in real time via instant message, more details can be found on his site.
Don't just take my word for it, search the web for reviews of Michael's place lay formula and you'll see it's highly rated by many other horse racing enthusiasts.
Good luck out there!
Huntingdon 14:55
Wednesday 11 March 2009
I have been away for a while working on a layng system. Todays lay selection is Nagam in the 14:55 at Huntingdon.
I am going to try and put together some articles on how I have back tested my system and developed it. Hopefully this will be of use to others who are struggling with their own systems which are on the cusp of being successful but just not quite there
Good luck out there!
Wolverhampton 15:20
Monday 16 February 2009
Friday was a good day for us as well with Bollywood Style winning. That put us firmly in the black for the week. Today we go to Wolverhampton for a 5F Handicap.
My shortlist is:
Speak the Truth
Riflessione
Dutching these runners would yield a profit of £160 to £100 stake.
Good luck out there
Lingfield 15:20
Friday 13 February 2009
We finally got back to winning ways yesterday with General Tufto obliging at a very nice price.
Today we go to Lingfield for a 7F Handicap. My shortlist is:
Bollywood Style
Loyal Royal
Dutching these runners would yield a profit of £280 to £100 stake. In a fairly open race I believe they both stand a good chance of winning however I think the main danger is Mr Chocolate Drop. If you wanted to include him in your betting this would reduce your profits to £200 to £100 stake.
Good luck out there
Southwell 13:20
Thursday 12 February 2009
Well we got nailed again yesterday with Mister Trickster losing by 3/4 of a length. This is when betting becomes really frustrating since no matter how much testing of a system you do real races don't always work out the way they should in testing.
Today we go to Southwell for a 8F Apprentice Handicap. My shortlist is:
General Tufto
Louisiade
Dutching these runners would yield a profit of £196 to £100 stakes. I think the likely winner will be Louisiade
Good luck out there
Kempton 15:05
Wednesday 11 February 2009
Well we had no luck on Monday with Downhill Skier losing by a length. I was right to to suggest that opposing Surwaki was one possible angle for the race.
Today we go back to Kempton for a 7F Handicap. My shortlist is:
Evenstorm
Thabaat
Mister Trickster
Dutching these runners would yield a profit of £280 to £100 stakes. I think the likely winner will come from either Thabaat or Mister Trickster.
The dangers are likely to be Mocha Java and Convince however I feel the handicapper may have caught up with these two.
Good luck out there
Kempton 16:25
Monday 09 February 2009
I have spent the last week analyzing my selections on the all weather and think I have ironed out most of the problems that led to a 5 day losing streak.
Today we go to Kempton for a 7F handicap.
The two leading contenders are Surwaki and Downhill Skier. Dutching these 2 horses would yield an £100 profit to £100 stakes and is my bet of the day. If you want better odds, the most likely winner is probably Downhill Skier as I think Surwaki is a exposed.
Good luck out there!
